Game Of Thrones' Jon Snow Spinoff Gets Disappointing Update From HBO Boss

Additional spinoffs, including the Jon Snow sequel show, receive a cautious development update from HBO boss Casey Bloys. Following the phenomenal success of , HBO began developing many more shows set in Westeros based on the works of author George R.R. Martin, including . However, of all the spinoffs in development, the laboriously titled is the only one that has received a straight-to-series order from HBO.

Talking to , Bloys shared an update on the development of additional spinoffs. The HBO boss acknowledged that they have many spinoffs in development, though "" (referring to ) is the only one that has been officially green-lit.

We always have Game of Thrones scripts in development. We greenlit Dunk and Egg in the spring. I wouldn’t say there is anything else in that world that is close to a green light or anything, but we are always working on different scripts and ideas.

Every Game of Thrones Spinoff Reportedly In Development

, which is based on Martin's novellas, is the only spinoff that has been officially ordered by HBO and is set to start shooting in the spring of 2024, according to Bloys.

However, there are many more spinoffs that are reportedly in development, none of which HBO has officially acknowledged. This includes the sequel series which is the most highly anticipated since it would feature the return of the cast, most notably Kit Harington as Jon Snow.

Other spinoffs reportedly in development are , which would follow Princess Nymeria, and, which would follow Corlys Velaryon's legendary voyages. and on the other hand, are two spinoffs that were reportedly canceled. A spinoff about Aegon's Conquest is one that was just reported earlier this year. With only one spinoff officially ordered by HBO, it appears the network is being careful to avoid oversaturation. Besides, audiences also have to look forward to, which is set to premiere in the summer of 2024.
