During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Brownell was asked about the possibility of plot developments between Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) and Violet (Ruth Gemmell) from Queen Charlotte carrying over into Bridgerton season 3. Brownell assured fans that there would indeed be further exploration of their backstory.
As the new showrunner, Brownell revealed that she had worked closely with series creator Shonda Rhimes to ensure continuity between past events and the upcoming season. She stated, “You'll see some further exploration of their backstory.
In addition to delving into the Agatha and Violet dynamic, the present-day timeline in 1817 also highlighted the significance of the friendship between Violet and Lady Danbury. The garden scene in episode 5 of Queen Charlotte emphasized the depth of their bond and showcased the strength of their connection, unlike the superficial relationships commonly found within the Ton.
Moreover, this exchange revealed a different side of Violet, who had previously been portrayed as a widowed mother figure, resigned to a life without romance after her husband's death.
