Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have revealed that they rejected producer credits for the show's spin-off series House of the Dragon. This comes after Emilia Clarke, who played Daenerys Targaryen, admitted that she hadn't watched the show. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Benioff and Weiss addressed Clarke's comments and explained their decision to not be involved in the spin-off project.

They also turned down the opportunity for producer credits, saying that the pressure and detachment from the show's success or failure wasn't worth it. House of the Dragon, set hundreds of years before Game of Thrones, has received mixed reviews. While it features elements like dragons and political conflicts, some fans feel that it lacks the groundbreaking magic of the original series. However, its true success will depend on its ability to live up to Game of Thrones' legacy.
