In 1968, martial arts legend Bruce Lee appeared on the show Blondie, which only lasted for one season. Unfortunately, there is no existing footage of the episode and it hasn't been seen since it aired. Lee's appearance on Blondie was overshadowed by his role in The Green Hornet, a show that also only aired for one season but achieved cult classic status. Unlike his other American film and TV appearances, the Blondie episode cannot be found anywhere today.

Lee guest-starred in the second-to-last episode of Blondie titled "Pick on a Bully Your Own Size." He played a karate instructor named Mr. Yoto who teaches self-defense to Dagwood and Alexander after they are picked on by bullies.

This was the final episode to air, as the last episode, "Run Buddy Run," didn't make it to air. Two planned episodes, "The Dying Swan" and "Dagwood's Private War," were never finished. CBS quickly canceled Blondie and wiped it from existence, not realizing that Lee would soon become one of the biggest stars in the world.

Blondie, based on the comic strip by Chic Young, was a series about a suburban couple raising two precocious children. It suffered a sudden cancellation that surprised the cast, who learned of it during a lunch break in the middle of filming an episode. This kind of ruthless decision-making by TV executives focused solely on profits was not uncommon.

In the earlier 1957 series of the same name, which also only lasted one season, the network erased all the tapes after the show ended. This was a common practice before digital TV production, where tapes were erased to make room for new shows. The same fate likely befell Blondie, resulting in the loss of Bruce Lee's guest appearance. If it weren't for the Pythons secretly making VHS copies of their show in 1971, the beloved Monty Python's Flying Circus episodes might have also been lost forever.

Ultimately, Bruce Lee's cameo on Blondie will remain a distant memory due to the show's cancellation and the erasure of its tapes. Despite his immense popularity and influence, this particular piece of his American TV career will likely never be seen again.
