Late actress Suzanne Somers, who rose to fame for her role in "Three's Company," was plagued with worry after landing the iconic TV role. Despite the excitement of her success, Somers was sleepless and concerned about being typecast as an irritating dumb blonde. Her husband Alan Hamel revealed that the day after she secured the role, she stayed up all night fretting. Hamel shared with Page Six that Somers wanted her character, clueless Chrissy Snow, to be lovable, iconic, and full of love, as she did not want to portray a stereotypical dumb blonde. However, she embraced the challenge and perfected the character, making it her favorite role to date.

In fact, the show's writers eagerly waited to create content specific to Somers' portrayal.

Interestingly, Somers was not the first actor cast as Chrissy. She followed in the footsteps of three other actors, including Susanne Zenor, who appeared in an unaired pilot when the character was still named Samantha.

On October 15, at the age of 76, Somers passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer. Two days later, her loved ones gathered to celebrate what would have been her 77th birthday. The family expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming love and support they received in a heartfelt Instagram post. In the accompanying video, Hamel, now 87 years old, shared his appreciation while covering his face with his hands.
