Suzanne Somers, the iconic actress known for her role in "Three's Company," is reportedly taking a step back from work following her recent battle with cancer. Concerns were raised among fans when Somers, 76, did not appear on her popular Facebook Live show alongside her husband and producer, Alan Hamel. Hamel exclusively revealed to Page Six that Somers has been facing health issues. He mentioned that his wife, who has been a long-time health advocate, has bravely fought cancer multiple times in the past, including breast cancer in her 50s, skin cancer in her 30s, and a hysterectomy years ago.
Hamel shared that Somers recently received an all-clear report on June 6, but cancer can be unpredictable, so they will continue to closely monitor her health. He emphasized that Somers' commitment to leading a chemical-free, organic lifestyle supported by bioidentical hormones has played a significant role in her survival. After her breast cancer diagnosis in 2000, Somers adopted healthy habits such as prioritizing sleep, following an all-organic diet, and eliminating chemicals from her food and beauty products.
Although she is currently cancer-free, Hamel stated that they have decided to prioritize Somers' health and put work on hold for now. He stressed the importance of addressing the epidemic of cancer, dedicating one of her books to people they knew who lost their lives to the disease.Somers has been absent from her Facebook show, but it has continued with her daughter-in-law Caroline, who is also the head of Somers' company, and other family members. The show has transformed into a heartwarming family affair in her absence.
In addition to her recent cancer battle, Somers has faced health challenges stemming from a neck injury she sustained in 2020.
