Alan Hamel, the husband of the late actress Suzanne Somers, is grieving the loss of his beloved wife who passed away on Sunday after battling cancer for several years. Hamel, 87, took to Instagram on Monday to share an emotional tribute to Somers, accompanied by several pictures of the couple showing their love for each other. He began his heartfelt message by expressing that there are no words or versions of love that can adequately describe his feelings for Suzanne. He stated that even the closest version of love in words falls short and that unconditional love and willingness to take a bullet for her are insufficient.
Alan Hamel and Suzanne Somers were married in 1977, and he revealed that the thought of their deep connection makes him weep. He emphasized that even after 55 years together, 46 of which were spent in marriage, and being apart for less than an hour in 42 years, their love was immeasurable. Hamel described moments like going to bed at 6 o'clock and holding hands while they slept or just gazing at her beautiful face as insufficient to encapsulate his love for her.
Despite his efforts, Hamel admitted that there are no actions, promises, or declarations that could adequately express his love for the "Three's Company" star.
Page Six reported on Sunday that Suzanne Somers died peacefully at home at the age of 76, surrounded by her loving husband, son, and immediate family. The family had planned to celebrate Suzanne's 77th birthday on Monday but took the opportunity to celebrate her extraordinary life instead. A private family burial is scheduled for this week, followed by a memorial next month. Prior to her passing, Alan Hamel had given Suzanne an early birthday present of a handwritten love poem wrapped in her favorite pink peonies.
