Bridgerton season 3 does not have a confirmed release date yet, but fans can catch star Adjoa Andoh on ITVX in the new panel show Breaking Through with Zeze Millz. The show features Black British actors sharing their experiences within the industry. In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Andoh, who portrays Lady Danbury in the hit Netflix series, opened up about her own inspirations in television and film as a Black person growing up. Andoh expressed her love for the diversity and the role Nichols played in the show.

She even recounted a memorable encounter with Nichols at an awards show celebrating Black creatives, where she excitedly approached her to express her admiration.

Andoh further shared a few other influential figures from her childhood: a cartoon of the Jackson 5, Sidney Poitier, Harry Belafonte, and musicians like Curtis Mayfield and Odetta. She also mentioned the impact of famous athletes and political figures such as Muhammed Ali and Nelson Mandela. Reflecting on these experiences, Andoh emphasized the immense power of seeing oneself represented in stories and the importance of this representation, particularly for young viewers.

She believes that it can inspire and resonate with children who may identify with different abilities or struggles.

Andoh highlighted the significance of diverse representation on screen by mentioning scenarios where a child with a disability may watch the Paralympics and feel empowered, or a dyslexic child may find inspiration in seeing someone else with dyslexia succeed. She stressed that it does not matter what the specific representation is; what matters is that children see themselves reflected and feel that their experiences are valued and validated.

Breaking Through with Zeze Millz, the panel show featuring Adjoa Andoh, is now available for streaming on ITVX. Fans can also enjoy Bridgerton seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix, along with the recently released Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
