Gigi Hadid made her first public appearance since her recent arrest when she was seen at John F. Kennedy International Airport, heading out of New York. The 28-year-old model looked stylish in a beige crop top, distressed denim jeans, and a matching nude jacket. She completed her ensemble with a blue-and-white plaid bag, a colorful necklace, and red Converse high-top sneakers.

This was the first time that Hadid was seen in public after being fined $1,000 and arrested for possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia during her trip to the Cayman Islands earlier this month. According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, customs officials found the substances in her luggage when she arrived at the Owen Roberts International Airport.

However, the quantities were relatively small and seemingly for personal use.

Leah Nicole McCarthy, a member of Hadid's group, was also found to have similar items in her bags. Both women were released on bail and pleaded guilty in a Summary Court appearance. They were fined $1,000 each, and no conviction was recorded.

Hadid's representative revealed that she had legally purchased the marijuana in New York City with a medical license. Furthermore, the use of medical marijuana has been legal in the Grand Cayman since 2017.

The incident had no impact on her record, and she was able to continue enjoying her vacation on the island.

Despite the arrest, Hadid seemed to have a pleasant time during her trip, as she shared photos and videos of her vacation with friends on Instagram. In her captions, she expressed her happiness and shared highlights from her getaway. With her airport appearance, the model proved that she was moving forward after the ordeal.
