Suzanne Somers, the late star of "Three's Company," was laid to rest on November 30 in Palm Springs, surrounded by loved ones. The actress, who tragically lost her battle with breast cancer on October 15 at the age of 76, remained fashionable even in her final days due to her custom-made Timberland boots. Her husband, Alan Hamel, 87, recently disclosed the reason behind Somers' choice of footwear. "Suzanne never owned boots specifically designed for hiking on rocky terrain, so I ordered the Timberland boots," he explained to People magazine. Hamel wanted to personalize the gift, so he wrote phrases on the boots that held significance to their life together, such as "In Love Forever" and "We Are One.

While Somers was known for her love of Manolo Blahnik heels, it was important to Hamel to make her final journey more personal. "It would have been predictable but not very personal to have her wear a designer brand," he explained. Whenever Somers wore the Timberland boots, she would say, "I am wearing you, and my boots will keep me safe."

Hamel also shared that he and Somers had a regular morning routine of hiking in the mountains near their Palm Springs home. After reaching the top, they would enjoy lunch and a nap before descending and returning to work.

A separate memorial service is scheduled to be held later this week in Somers' hometown of San Bruno, California. Hamel and Somers were married in 1977.
