Supermodel Gigi Hadid was arrested and fined $1,000 by Customs & Border Control agents in the Cayman Islands after marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found in her luggage, according to court documents. The incident happened during a girls' trip to the tropical destination on July 10.
The local outlet, Cayman Marl Road, reported that the substances were discovered during a baggage search at Owen Roberts International Airport. The outlet stated that the items were of small quantities and seemingly for personal use.
Hadid's representative clarified that the marijuana was legally purchased in New York City with a medical license and that medical use is legal in Grand Cayman since 2017. Hadid and her friends continued to enjoy their vacation after the incident, sharing photos and videos of their travels on social media. Hadid even showed off a faux dragon tattoo on her leg. Despite the arrest, she seemed unfazed, posting more pictures and captions on Instagram. Ultimately, she wrote, "All's well that ends well."
