The Astounding Age Johnny Depp Lost His Virginity: “I was just curious”

Oftentimes, it’s the stories that stars of the Hollywood industry have to tell that attract us to them in the first place, and everyone at least has something exciting to say. But when we look at Johnny Depp and his experiences growing up, we may feel like we’re on a rollercoaster ride full of ups and downs that defined his childhood.

Not focusing on his life as a successful star and all the drama that surrounded him in the recent past, we can find that the early days of his life weren’t exactly smooth sailing. In fact, he revealed that he was a certified drug addict who went around and mingled with bad crowds, and in the process, lost his virginity at the unnerving age of 13.

While he may have been in the headlines due to his domestic abuse allegations from ex-wife Amber Heard in recent years, was revered as one of the most talented stars Hollywood had ever seen. This fact still holds true, albeit, shrouded by negativity. But the man that we know today wasn’t always the one everyone could look up to.

There was a time in the star’s life when he was a misguided young boy who had all the things that could’ve led him down a very dark path if he hadn’t stopped.

In his autobiography, titled , the star opened up about his early days with his mother Betty Sue in an unstable household. Sue had suffered a failed marriage in the past, which pushed young Depp into darkness. He recalled his days going into the world, seeking trouble. 

By the age of 14, he had been exposed to every single narcotic known at the time, even losing his virginity at the age of 13 among other criminal acts. He said:

“I started smoking at 12, lost my virginity at 13, and did every kind of drug there was by 14. Pretty much any drug you can name, I’ve done it. I wouldn’t say I was bad or malicious, I was just curious. I certainly had my little experiences with drugs. Eventually, you see where that’s headed and you get out.”

And thankfully, he did get out of that dark phase of his life, and later, made a name for himself as one of the biggest stars in cinema history.
