Suzanne Somers' husband, Alan Hamel, gave her a heartfelt early birthday gift before her death on Sunday morning. An insider, speaking exclusively to Page Six, revealed that Hamel presented the "Three's Company" star with a handwritten love poem wrapped in her favorite pink peonies. Somers, who died one day before her 77th birthday after battling breast cancer for years, read the poem before going to bed. She later passed away peacefully in her sleep.

According to People, the poem expressed Hamel's deep love for his wife, stating that words or actions could not fully capture the extent of his feelings.

Hamel ended the poem by referring to their love as "us," a uniquely wonderful, and indescribable connection. Another friend of Somers confirmed that Hamel was by her side when she passed away in their green home in Palm Springs. Her longtime publicist, R. Couri Hay, expressed how Somers' family and friends planned to celebrate her birthday but instead would now gather to commemorate her extraordinary life. A private family burial is scheduled for this week, with a memorial to follow in the coming month.
