Actress Leah Remini has revealed more about her separation from the Church of Scientology and its most famous member, Tom Cruise, in a 20/20 interview.

In the interview, which aired on Good Morning America, Remini claimed that being critical of Cruise is equivalent to being critical of Scientology itself, as he is seen as the face of the religion. She said that when she first met Cruise within the church, he was friendly and accepting, but she later noticed the influence he had within the organization.

Remini recalled being asked to teach Cruise salsa dancing and being closely monitored by high-ranking Scientology officials during the lesson. She also recounted an incident when she made a comment about Cruise kissing his then girlfriend, Katie Holmes, and was written up and reported to the church as a result. Remini explained that being written up in a "knowledge report" is a common practice within the church, even among family members.

She admitted to writing up reports on her own husband as well. The Church of Scientology has responded to Remini's claims by accusing her of seeking attention and rewriting her own history with the religion. The full interview with Remini will air on 20/20 on Friday night.
