Quentin Tarantino's film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, received both praise and controversy for its depiction of Bruce Lee. In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee's daughter, expressed her unchanged thoughts on the portrayal. Tarantino defended his depiction, but Shannon Lee believes he may have been influenced by negative stories told by individuals who had encountered her father.

She noted that many of these stories were from white men who viewed her father as arrogant. The controversy surrounding the film stems from the scene in which Brad Pitt's character fights Bruce Lee on the set of The Green Hornet.

Lee's daughter initially called the portrayal disrespectful, but recognized its narrative purpose in establishing Pitt's character as physically capable.

Tarantino later defended the scene, citing evidence of Lee's occasional arrogance. However, in a column for The Hollywood Reporter, Shannon Lee criticized how her father's legacy was shaped by the perspectives of white men who didn't truly understand him. The ongoing debate highlights the enduring impact and status of Bruce Lee in Hollywood.
