Adjoa Andoh, who stars in Bridgerton and plays Queen Charlotte, is set to join the cast of The Red King, a new mystery thriller TV series. The upcoming UKTV original show has announced several confirmed stars, including Anjli Mohindra from Vigil, Marc Warren from Van Der Valk, and Jill Halfpenny from EastEnders. Mohindra, known for her roles in Bodyguard and Doctor Who spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures, will take on the lead role of Grace Narayan, a police sergeant sent to the small island of St Jory to solve the case of a missing teenage boy named Cai.
Andoh will portray Lady Heather Nancarrow, while Warren will play Dr.
The Red King has been written and created by Toby Whithouse, the mastermind behind BBC Three's supernatural television series, Being Human. Whithouse is also serving as an executive producer for the thrilling new show. Expressing his excitement, Whithouse said, "Working with Quay Street and UKTV has been a genuine joy.
Adjoa Andoh is most recognized for her portrayal of Lady Danbury in the hit Netflix series Bridgerton. Fans can expect to see more of Lady Danbury in 2023 when Bridgerton season three premieres. Additionally, both seasons one and two of Bridgerton, along with the spin-off Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
